Capella Schloss Velden - pure luxury on Lake Wörthersee

The success of meetings and conferences is not just dependent on the agenda, the surrounding in which they take place are also extremely important. While in many places modern conference centres are being conjured up and plans for luxury hotel complexes are rampant, the country of Carinthia relies on the established locations with tradition. Since the end of the 16th century when Baron Bartholomäus Khevenhüller had the palace built in one of the most beautiful spots on the shores of Wörthersee Lake, the location has always been truly treasured.
Baron Khevenhüller would turn green with envy if he returned to Velden today and saw what the Capella Hotel Group has made out of his former home: a luxury lake-side chateau resort of the very highest standard.

For centuries Schloss Velden established itself as a popular meeting place for aristocracy, members of the political scene, artists and the high society. Later it made a name for itself in the world of film and among the European jet-set. In 1990 the German billionaire assumed private residence in the palace and in the early 90s it became the setting for the popular German-speaking TV series "Ein Schloss am Wörthersee".

Today the Schloss excels as one of Europe's finest locations for illustrious conferences and seminars. The hotel boasts 5 seminar rooms and a ball room catering for 10 to 360 participants depending on the required seating arrangements. All seminar rooms have WLAN, integrated screens that descend from the ceiling, LCD projectors and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and daylight.

Facilities enabling participants to unwind between or after conferences are also exemplary. The crown-jewel of Schloss Velden is its exclusive Auriga Spa offering a blend of treatments inspired by the lunar calendar using purely organic ingredients and traditional Austrian healing methods. The spa is spaciously laid over an area of 3,500 m² and not only offers fantastic views of Lake Wörthersee but also has 14 treatment rooms, a "couples suite", a world-class fitness studio, a 40 m² swimming pool, a steam sauna, a Zen Studio, a snow grotto, an interactive golf simulator and a spa café - in short - the ideal refuge for regeneration and complete relaxation.

While six stars proudly adorn the hotel emblem, in the resort's "Schlossstern" gourmet restaurant it's the 2 Micheling stars and the 3 Gault-Millau-Hauben or "Chef's Hats" that have been awarded to head-chef Silvio Nickol that are attracting everyone's attention at the moment. For those who prefer looking at real stars, then the Restaurant "Seespitz" directly on the shores of Lake Wörthersee is the ideal place to be spoilt with culinary delights and to enjoy the unique Alpine-lake panorama.

The creative way in which the Capella Group takes care of its guests becomes evident when you look at the packages which make a stay at Hotel Schloss Velden even more irresistible. Perhaps a few examples? With the "PS. I love you" package couples can relax over a candle-lit dinner and a glass of champagne and later enjoy a massage. Families for example are treated to "Feel Good Family Moments" where the "Capella Enchanted Wood" is a particular favourite with the children. There are several winter and summer golfing packages available for keen golfers and true connoisseurs will enjoy the "Feast and Relax" packages.
