The Visitor Centre

It may be the most remarkable building in Bad Reichenhall and deserves its reputation: It is the centre of the city and the central point of cultural actions and social causes. The organisation of all activities is focused here. The extraordinary architecture presents highest autonomy and is directed consequently at the square design character, the balanced proportions and the excellent material selection which is coordinated precisely. The whole interior decoration, all lamps and all elements, designed so devotedly, are concepts of the architect couple Dr. Walther and Bea Betz.
The Visitor Centre consists of two buildings: In the left one you find the administration and the tourist information, the right one is used for social activities and contains the festive theatre, the impressive foyer and the functionally arranged but anyhow comfortable convention rooms.

By entering the huge foyer you experience the bright and airy atmosphere, produced by the colossal glass front which is directed at the octagonal inner courtyard with its large round fountain. Conterminal are situated the theatre, the restaurant and bar, the gambling house, the convention rooms and the underground car park.
Fascinating is its excellent acoustic and its harmonic colour composition. It is not only a location for theatre performances, plays and concerts but also for readings, slide and film lectures in front of a large audience. The state-of-the-art illumination and acoustic irradiation technology allow impressing productions and elegant events.

The "Königliche Kurhaus"

The "Königliche Kurhaus" - Royal Spa House - as a singular beauty in architecture and facade design, the "Königliche Kurhaus" poses as the visiting card of the conference and convention town.
Thanks to the advantageous climate and the appearance of natural remedies, the town could manage to establish as a spa in the year 1846. The reputation of the spa also took advantage of the visit of the Bavarian King Maximilian II who ordered to built the spa house.
The construction was finished on  May, 24th 1900 and the building was given its name "Altes Kurhaus" - "Old Spa Hous".
These days the house shines resplendent in old grandeur after its accurate restoration. Therefore importance was mainly attached to the reconstruction of all details which were conceived by its former architect Prof. Max Littmann.
