The central block of the present hotel building serves the guests from 1915, the name of the former Imperial Hotel is preserved by one of the function rooms. After its reopening in 1985, the hotel was modernised several times.
The Grand Hotel Hungaria is the patron of modern Hungarian art: the majority of the works of art were ordered by the hotel, thus the artists were inspired by the place of their display. The most famous of the thirty artists are the renowned sculptors Miklós Melocco, Pál Kö and Péter Vladimir, Zsuzsa Péreli whose tapestries are known all over the world and Attila Zsigmond, György Puiz and Barna Bardócz reputable masters of applied arts.
All 499 air-conditioned rooms are equipped with direct dial telephone, Internet access, automatic wake-up system, minibar, radio, colour TV with pay movies and satellite TV programs. Room service, laundry and valet service are also at the disposal of the guests, in the bathroom a built-in hairdryer enhance the comfort of the rooms.
